The technology
Your app, hosting, databases, integrations and automation. What is being used, how it fits together and why it was chosen.
Independent advice. Ownership first.
Know your technology. Own your access.
Take control of what you pay for.
Technology ownership advice for founders.
01 / The situation
A quick prototype. A few freelancers. A growing list of services. Somewhere along the way, the full picture got lost.
Stack Ownership Audit
I review the underlying technology, the accounts behind it and the way it is used — with agreed access to your systems, documentation and suppliers.
We look at what each part does, why it is there, who controls it and what it costs. Then we identify duplication, unnecessary complexity and alternatives worth investigating.
For founders who built with AI, brought in outside help and now want a clearer view of the infrastructure they depend on.
02 / What I look at
Your app, hosting, databases, integrations and automation. What is being used, how it fits together and why it was chosen.
Domains, repositories, accounts and supplier access. Who owns each service, who can change it and how you recover control.
Subscriptions, usage and overlapping tools. Where costs may be avoidable, and whether simpler or lower-cost options make sense.
03 / What you leave with
An ownership register of the systems reviewed, their purpose, costs, account owners and access arrangements.
A prioritised action plan: the problems found, why they matter and the options for addressing them.
Alternatives to investigate, including migration effort, dependencies and trade-offs alongside potential savings.
Recommendations come before changes. Any proposed saving needs validation against your usage and the cost of switching.
04 / From review to resolution
We agree the systems, questions and access needed before the review. I walk you through the findings so you understand the decisions ahead.
I can scope follow-on work where it sits within my expertise. Changes are agreed separately, with clear responsibilities, risks and handover.
Where specialist input is needed, I can research suitable providers and help you assess the options for longer-term support.
The audit is an agreed review of ownership, architecture and costs. Security testing, legal advice and specialist engineering require their own scope and expertise.
